From 16 May through 26 June, Mathias Bengtsson will be exhibiting in New York’s leading design gallery, Moss Gallery, and 'Paper Chair' from MINDCRAFT10 is among the products displayed.

Under the title 'Poetic License: deliberate deviations from normally applicable rules and practices' Danish designer Mathias Bengtsson is currently exhibiting as part of a line-up of international top designers at Moss Gallery in New York. Mathias Bengtsson has five pieces on display, among them 'Paper Chair', which was created especially for Danish Crafts' exhibition MINDCRAFT10.
'Paper Chair' was exhibited during Milan Design Week as part of MINDCRAFT10 in Zona Tortona and here the chair was awarded by The Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Crafts and Design. 'Paper Chair' was also exhibited at Danish Crafts' exhibition at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during Fuorisalone 2010.

The other four Mathias Bengtsson works exhibited at Moss Gallery are 'Slice Chair', 'Carbon Fiber Placement Chair', 'Spun Chaise' and 'Spun Chair'. The exhibition at Moss Gallery has been put together by the two independent curators Thea Westreich and Ethan Wagner, and in addition to Mathias Bengtsson's works the exhibition feature works by Michele de Lucchi, Fernando & Humberto Campana, Michael Anastassiades, R&Sie(n)/Francois Roche, Oskar Zieta, Patrick Jouin, Finn Magee, Philippe Starck, Mark Alexander, Josh Smith, Robert Mapplethorpe, Philippe Parreno, Peter Marigold, Studio Job and Maarten Baas.
According to Moss, all the designers in the exhibition are characterised by challenging norms and testing the potentials of material properties in their work.
Moss Gallery is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary, and with an emphasis on experimental craft and design the gallery has showcased many of the most groundbreaking designers over the years in the gallery in SoHo, New York and at Design Miami/Basel.
