CC+ for SKANDIUM is a new collection from Danish Crafts that is specially selected for the design store Skandium in London. The collection is available from the store on Brompton Road from November 4, 2010.

A total of 26 products from 15 craftspeople have been hand-picked by Skandium's chief buyers in collaboration with Danish Crafts and curator Nina Tolstrup to be included in the collection. The products have been selected among Danish Crafts' previous curated collections to ensure a high level of artistic quality and craftsmanship.
Skandium has been in existence for more than 10 years and specialises in selling Scandinavian design to quality-conscious Londoners. Today, Skandium has three stores in London, and CC+ for SKANDIUM is going to be launched in the Brompton Road department, the largest of the stores. Skandium has previously carried products from Crafts Collection, and when Director and Co-Owner Magnus Englund participated in Danish Crafts' international panel in spring 2010 his attention was drawn to the qualities of the Crafts Collection. The next step was to design the special collection.
CC+ for Skandium was created in cooperation with the Danish Embassy in London as a locally anchored co-organiser.
Danish Crafts has designed two previous CC+ collections. In spring 2006 Danish Crafts presented the special collection CC+ for MoMA, aimed at an American audience in MoMA's two leading museum stores in New York. For several years, chief buyers from MoMA Retail had had a good eye for the products in Crafts Collection and visited Danish Crafts' stalls in international design fairs. CC+ for MoMA was the result of a close collaboration between Danish Crafts and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
In 2008 Danish Crafts designed a special version of Crafts Collection for the World Expo in Zaragoza. This collection, CC+ for EXPO, was exhibited in the Danish pavilion at EXPO 2008 in Zaragoza. Like CC+ for MoMA and now CC+ for SKANDIUM the collection was custom-designed for the event based on products from previous Crafts Collections. Seven Danish craftspeople had been selected to take part in CC+ for EXPO, and all the works were on sale in the Danish pavilion.
