CC+ for MoMA
Danish Crafts collection CC+ for MoMA brought modern Danish craft and design to the U.S. It introduced a whole new generation of international-level Danish craft artists to the American public. The collection was featured in MoMA’s two New York design shops in the spring of 2006.

The special collection CC+ for MoMA was the result of close cooperation between Danish Crafts and the Museum of Modern art in New York. Chief buyers from MoMA Retail had been watching the Crafts Collection over a period of several years, regularly visiting Danish Crafts' stalls at international lifestyle fairs like the Ambiente, Maison & Objet and ICFF, where Danish Crafts' ninth collection, the Crafts Collection 09 was presented with the award for "Best Craftsmanship" in the spring of 2005.
In conjunction with increased international focus on the innovative and artistic qualities of Danish craft and design this led to a joint venture with MoMA Retail to create a sales exhibition featuring Danish craft. A total of 19 craft artists were selected by MoMA's chief buyers to contribute to the collection. All products in the categories ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery and furniture were selected from previous collections curated by Danish Crafts to ensure a consistently high level of workmanship and artistic quality.
In connection with the final selection procedure, two buyers from MoMA retail visited Copenhagen in September of 2005, calling on a number of craft workshops and vendors. Up to this point, several months of work had gone into presenting previous collections, forwarding samples, pricing, negotiating with artists etc.
On the 22nd of February the MoMA Design Stores in Soho and on 53rd Street in New York opened the doors to their spectacular presentation of modern Danish craft. Their distinctive interiors along with the eye-catching shop-fronts ensured that Danish craft and design were noticed in New York.
Besides retailing from the shops themselves, parts of the collection were presented on MoMA's website as well as in their extensive spring mail-order catalogue.
The exhibition CC+ for MoMA was created in cooperation with the Danish Consulate General in New York, who acted as a local facilitator.
